Issue 44 - 2006-07-28
Robert had to cut short last years signing tour due to illness that required
hospital treatment. That particular illness is mostly dealt with now. You will
not know though that Robert was struck by another ailment earlier this year,
again this has just been treated, so he is mostly better. Our favorite author

A decision was made some time ago, that there would be no signing tour this
year, a break I am sure you will all agree, is warranted given the
Despite this, Robert wants to attend a Sproutlore event, to sign books, and
greet his friends, you all know he considers members special, and has made great
friends with many of you, and continues to.
This will be the only signing Robert will be doing this year.
I have been reluctant to publiscise this, lest it not come to fruition. I am
pretty sure now, that Robert will be along.
So we are having a one day Sproutlore gathering to mark the release of
Robert will be along to ONLY sign his books, and relax in the bar. (two signing
sessions 3pm & 7pm)
Lee Justice and Graham Hill will be showing us a virtual guide to Brentford. I
hope to have someone interesting and special come along and read some of Roberts

Date Saturday 5th August Time: 12 noon to 12 midnight. Place: The Horseshoe
Inn, 26 Melior Street, London SE1 3QP
Here is a map of the iummediate area.
The Horseshoe Inn is a short walk from London Bridge station (which is served by
the Northern and Jubilee Underground lines as well as national and local rail
services and direct trains from Brighton). It has a good selection of beers,
including draught Leffe (£2 per glass) and Bombardier (£2.50 per pint). The pub
also serves a good selection of food, cooked on site and averaging about £6 for
a main course, with five vegetarian options on the regular menu. Food will be
available from noon until 10pm. (if it doesnít run out)
Sproutlore will have books available, but we need to know how many, so please
let me know if you want one or more so we can keep them for you. Just send an
email entitled TOYMINATOR BOOK LAUNCH ORDER, to our usual address online and in
the body of the email, your name, phone numbers and how many you want. They must
be collected on the day.
Most of the day will be relaxing, and Robert wants to get around and see people
and chill out. So thatís our aim. Please bear this in mind.
We may have an auction and Raffle and as I said someone interesting along to do
a reading, but mostly its sitting round having a beer. Nothing will hapen after
10pm, to allow people to go home.
The Brentford Mercury issue 44 will be available for collection on the day.
I hope to see many of you there,
