Jeremy Beadle had died Sad

As a teenager I used to wait avidly for weekends and go to be with the tranny (a radio!!) and an earpiece and listen to his night time show on LBC radio which was shear class, used to have me in stitches

RIP from a sad fan.

Just heard this too - was on the phone to the missus when it flashed up on the breaking news.

Very sad - he was a very funny & clever bloke. "Game for a Laugh" was a huge favourite in our house when I was a kid.

And 59 is no age to be poppin' yer clogs is it?

thats a shame, even though at times he was the most annoying man on TV he did have something about him that made his shows worth watching.

Aye, he did a lotta work for Charitee too. Innovator in tv gameshow formats and all that. No doubt when they put him in the ground, some bloke with a beard wearing a false beard and microphone is not going to pop up and surprise us all ever again, and believe it or not, I will really really miss that.

Cheers Jeremy, you were tacky with class. Clever too.

Apparently he had a large library of Fortean and weird shit books.

Didn't stop him being something of a twat though.

Wasn't he supposed to be something of an expert on human combustion?

I met him at an Unconvention, I was introduced by Bob Rickard who said "You might find these two chaps interesting to talk to." One was Jeremy
Beadle, the other was Van Morrison. They were great mates apparently. I DID find them very interesting. Beadle was a fount of knowledge about spontaneous human combustion, had all sorts of theories. But couldn't get a book published on the subject because the publishers thought he was taking the piss. He was a bloody nice bloke, incredibly enthusiastic and seemed to know about almost everything. In a nice way.
A great pity.
And not even a year older than me...oh dear...

59 Shocked no age at all - some of us are a lot closer to that than we care to admit Confused
I do remember thinking he was the funniest bloke on the planet when "game for a laugh" was on and then eventually slipping into the sun reader mind set of 'what a twat'. Bottom line though was that he was an innovator, an entertainer and, by all accounts, a diamond geezer.
I hope that just about now he is stood outside JC's cloud with a dodgy police officers costume on trying to explain why he has just crushed his brand new 4X4 - better yet JC is being bleeped on the soundtrack!

Jeremy beadle would have had them pissing themselves 2000 years ago.
"What Jesus doesn't know... is that I'm about to reveal that he's actually not the son of God but the son of a well known carpenter. We've been having him on from the age of ten. Lets see his face as I walk out and talk to him on the cross and see if he's...game for a laugh!" Very Happy

Fl*pping hell that's awful. Go straight to Hull, do not pass Go, do not collect your 200! Wink

Then again I might just suggest that as a pub quiz team name tomorrow! Thanks Matt. Confused Laughing
