Ever find yourself alone on forum and feel a little lonely? Not any more!

Here is Melvin Thumbs Up

Yes! All this time and we never knew! He really has a name! Melvin will be your best friend whenever you want. He even likes the same foods as you (except yogurt which - as we all know - should be banned)

He likes the same books and films as you and he won't even take your beer!

I works like this - you type anything preceeded by the words 'I think that' and then you post again with just Melvin in the body. See? He agrees with you!

I think that all chavs should be chemically castrated to prevent them multiplying.

I think that Jesus was a dolphin as he walked on water and had rather a fascination with fish.

Hmm, interestingly dictionary.com describes it as:

Main Entry: chav
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: the lower class; uneducated and ignorant people
Etymology: perh. Romany chav child
Usage: derogatory slang

However wiki'll give you it as:
Chav is a slang term which has been in wide use throughout the United Kingdom since 2004. It refers to a subcultural stereotype of a person with fashions such as flashy "bling" jewellery and counterfeit designer clothes or sportswear, an uneducated, uncultured, impoverished background, a tendency to congregate around places such as fast-food outlets, bus stops, or other shopping areas, and a culture of antisocial behaviour.

Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism.

Lots more stuff on the site including a picture of a stereotypical one.

Is this where we get into the trusty discussion of "merkin, isn't that a pubic wig?" etc.

Please God no! (and I mean that in a strictly non-personal general god-type-of-way and not at all in reference to the poster calling himself GOD)

I hope that discussion is so old that no-one would lower themselves to it. Confused Wink

Pete and I had a discussion in the car ealier on whether or not chavs could be retrained to be useful members of society.

We were doubtful.

Any thoughts?

ps - Merkins are funny. It is official.

Are there enough rolled-up newpapers in the world to hit them with when they do things wrong?

I think that all schools should adopt Henri Lloyd and Burberry as their uniforms to deter young chavs from wearing it on street corners. Or anywhere else, really.

If you remove the ned, you have to ostracise another group in society. Its simpler as it is Smile
