With their online booking system that didn't actually work, leaving me spending the night in Hunter's room (no, not the Gladiator).

The Central (Quality) hotel is indeed very nice and ridiculously handy for anyone coming up by train as you don't even have to leave Central station to get into it.

Not I.
Good grief, I'd have only been in the first year of my GCSEs then. That's worrying.

If I remember rightly, they had originally given Darren his own room, and put me and you in the same room, even though we had booked completely seperately, several days apart, so they had no idea that we knew each other. They then put me and Darren together so you could have your own room, but then while we were in the pub they gave that room to someone else....

And then they suggested that it was our fault for using the on-line booking system because it was crap.... ummmm but it wasn't the online booking system that gave your room to someone else while we were out making merry. No, that would be the bunch of grinning monkeys that "run" the place (in the loosest possible sense).

In case anyone is wondering, this was a place called (I think) the Eurohostel in Glasgow. If it's still there, avoid it at all costs! Grin

Only this time I'm definately forking out for the Travelodge.

I like this idea, because Glasgow is one 3.90-4.50 quid train fair away! Very Happy And I could probably crash cheaply on my friend's friend's sofa or something similar, and maybe even less complicated Laughing

Also doing the GCSE thing.

And... I've never bragged on my own midget!
Sorry, the phrase always reminds me of O Brother Where Art Thou.

The Quality hotel in Glasgow in the train station is lovely and very reasonable, and has a swimming pool. I'm going up in septmeber for my best friends hen night, the daft bint is marrying my brother, I worry about her sanity.
I last stayed in that hotel when it was was called the Central it was at an Eastercon a bit run down and scruffy then.but have a good time anyway. Smile

I would, however, miss the extra 30 quid... Money's getting really tight at the moment. I can, however, stay up really late, this post is proof, so I wouldn't necessarily miss too much Laughing You guys are such teases, got me all excited even though this idea is ridiculously hypothetical

Your portfolio should be displayed in the Tate Modern.
