Hi gang

Just wanted to let you know that the Science Fiction Season has started on BBC Radios 3,4 and 7 and I have a few choice morsels in there which I would love you to tune in to if you have the time:

Monday 9th March, 2.15pm, Radio 4
CRY BABIES by Kim Newman
Starring Alex Jennings (The Queen), Natasha Little (Teachers), Colin Morgan (Merlin), Rupert Degas (Brightonomicon), Sia Berkeley (Skins) & Sarah Douglas (Superman II & Brightonomicon)

Friday 13th March, 2.15pm, Radio 4
MAYFLIES by Mike Maddox
Starring Sir Derek Jacobi (everything ever!), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Catherine McCormack (Braveheart), Danny Webb (Alien 3 & Dr Who), Sarah Douglas (Superman II) & Steven Cree (Brightonomicon)

These are my directorial debut for Radio 4 and I am very proud of them both. I hope you enjoy them. Both can be listened to online, on FM and on DAB, or you can hear them for up to 7 days after trnasmission using the BBC iPlayer service.

ALSO...

Just found out that BBC7 are repeating THE BRIGHTONOMICON as part of the season, starting at 6.30pm on Monday 9th March...hooray for more Robert On The Radio!

Check out the full season, which includes programmes by my friends Paul Cornell (Dr Who, Captain Britain), Jeremy Mortimer and Jon Nicholls:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/scifiseason/

Happy listening and please, if you enjoy any of the season's offerings, let the BBC know...this is an experiment to try and prove to the somewhat jaded commissioning editors that SciFi should be back on the radio....it will only succeed if the listeners let them know.

Kindest wibbly things and spaniels in a basket

Neil Smile

Well done, my friend. I have just sent off the cover blurb for Retromancer. Do you have any idea about when you would hope to see it finished on audio, I'm thinking that the releases of both should be tied together.
What say you?

I was assuming that the hardback comes out in Dec 09, and then to give it a month to stand on its own and get the sales, and then follow up in Jan with the audio. How does that sound?

If the next joke involves a retro-mussolini I will need to tut in a moderately stern manner.

A St. Valentines Day retro-mascara....

Alternatively we could grow impressive facial hair for a St Valentine's Day Retro-moustache, though thus might not be suitable for all club members.

Or we could listen to music by the Happy Mondays, the Charlatans and the Stone Roses for St Valentines Day Retro-Manchester. Confused

Edit - also not suitable for some club members. Laughing
