Not entierly sure what a Gallimaufry is but the Guardian review of Necrophenia (pg 11 of the Review section) states that this is what you will find between it's covers. Very Happy

Quite a nice little review I thought but one not likely to draw in the virgin Rankin reader, with the Guardian suggesting its one for the established Rankin reader.

Do we think Robert fills his books with puns and in jokes only accessable to the established fan? I'm not sure I can answer that having read a shelf load of the great mans books but prehaps some of you newbies out there could give us you opinion of his latest instalment of Far Fetched Fiction. Were you left bemused as the Guardian seems to think you would be or have you enjoyed it as much as me.

I looked it up and found this
The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines a gallimaufry as a heterogeneous mixture; a jumble or medley.

it true the interweb can be used for other things than porn, facebook and Rankin Shocked

Concerningly that's a word I only learnt through webcomics, but never mind.

I don't think it's inaccessible to a new reader (correct me if I'm wrong) but like any of them, you might appreciate the rules of Laz more if yoy're familiar with them. Then again, that's always been the case, the more you read, the more you appreciate. I think as a more stand-alone book it would actually be a good starter book, but what do I know?
