I have just updated the new website events calendar with a number of upcoming events but I know that a lot of sprouts aren't there yet and won't be for a few weeks while we go through the transition phase of old to new club. Don't want anyone to miss out so here are a couple of soon to happen things........

Steam Punk Hidden Cabaret
Of interest to many of you in here....
"The Steampunk Hidden Cabaret is coming to the Marlborough Little Theatre. We have Victorian Time-traveling performers, a mad scientist and a plethora of market stalls, all imported from a technologically retroactively advanced future!"
It's in Brighton and Robert will most likely be along, if you see him say hello.
More Info here.......

Picocon 26
Picocon is the annual one-day Science Fiction & Fantasy convention run by the Imperial College Science Fiction society (ICSF). It takes place on Saturday 28th February in Imperial College's Student Union (London).
This year Robert is a Guest of Honour and will be doing a talk etc....

Bit more difficult to fix this one scouse but be assured that the club will be looking at venues and events that are accessible to as many members as is possible Very Happy

You had one there like 1 month ago..... you got a short memory or something? Grin

The more events the better I say, and let's spread them around the country so as many people as possible can make it to at least 1 event per year. Amd if you think we should have an event near you, speak up, offer to help, and it WILL happen! Thumbs Up

This is very true, but in these days of no money the more people in the pub the better Very Happy
I would have atleast 1 a month if I could get away with it.
Is Castle Rock still making Large btw, or do I need to have words with a local brewery (don't worry not Fullers) so get a Large 2 produced?

Now *that* sounds like a plan!

Castle Rock only ever made Large in limited quantities for each of the Large events, and it was a completely different brew each time..... and Large 4 will be about as different as it can get..... probably....

But - if you can get a local brewery to start brewing something called Large, and get in on the pumps in the new Swan on even an occasional basis, I think you would almost certainly be hailed a hero in these parts.... Thumbs Up

Incidentally, looks like I will be down that way for the hidden cabaret, anybody else going? I feel a pub may need to be involved.

That's quite a good magic trick, you'll have to teach me it some time.

Doctor When is currently frothing at the mouth with excitement over The Steampunk Weekend at the Asylum in Lincoln in September.

http://steampunk.synthasite.com/

Weekend at the Asylum is the first UK Steampunk "Convivial" or Festival. It is a gathering of Steampunk enthusiasts and Neo-Victorians and a celebration of a retro-futuristic world.

We're booked in and I believe Mr Rankin is attending too Very Happy
