Very entertaining (it's for everyone to watch, right, not just Robert?).

It's an old stage trick that just requires quick-action trap doors and identical octuplets

Wow, that's slick.

One set of identical female octuplets, one pair of identical male twins, and LOTS of very fast trapdoors & lifts....

Nothing that sophisticated, mostly just done with clever costumes as a rule - I've seen similar elsewhere.

The advantage of video is that if you watch really closely you can catch the shift just as it approaches the minute mark.

Yup, if you watch the bit from 56-60 seconds, you can actually see the changed skirt drop down - but it still doesn't explain how her top half changes when she's apparently holding onto that hoop the whole time.

Very very clever however it's done.

I suspect that in that instance, the top-half of the "before" dress, is a cunningly folded bottom-half of the "after" dress inside out. Confused

If you see what I mean?

I think you're right, in fact I think most of them are done like that, with the top half being unclipped so that it drops down to form the bottom half of the next dress. Gotta admire the amount of effort that goes into making it look so seamless (no pun intended) though.

Yeah, with the exception of the transitions where the dress gets shorter, where the "before" dress is almost certainly dropped on the floor in a hurry.

Cunning indeed.

Shouldn't she be fatter with all those layers on?

Doed the woman change or is it just the hair, when she goes from brunette to blond?

The fabric of those dresses is pretty thin, and she does remove some of them completely during the process, and there is some suspicious bulk around her top half in early outfits that's not present in later ones, and at the end the skirts are all a bit puffy from concealing all the other layers, while the top is the skimpiest chiffon affair.

And yeah when the hair changes she just dumps a wig.

I heard today that a woman in LA has given birth to octuplets. All they need to be is the same sex and identical, and this marvellous stage act can continue.

Not sure about the folding over dresses idea, it seems somewhat far fetched.

This is an older version of the same routine from the Moscow Circus, by different performers.
