SAT NAV voices are a bit tedious. I dislike them.
I was thinking now that Tom Baker is doing the landline texting service for BT, there must be someone out there waiting to do a SAT NAV voice service.

If I could have anyone as my SAT NAV voice, it would have to be Brian Blessed. Try and work in as many lines from Flash Gordon as possible.

A Dalek voice would be pretty amusing.

I think there already are a bunch of different sat nav voices out there. Though probably not Brian Blessed.

You stole my idea. I was thinking this ages ago although my suggestion was to get William Daniels (the voice of K.I.T.T). Add in a few acerbic phrases and a box with pulsing red LEDs and you've have a christmas hit on your hands.

Actually the lilting English tones of Ms. Gillian Anderson would suit me, I'd just drive around for hours going in the wrong direction so she would correct me. Then get home and paddle myself for being a naughty boy...hmmm might have gone a bit far there.

I think a Dalek voice would be very annoying after about 2 minutes.

However Peter Sallis, voice of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in the TV series and forever beloved as the voice of Ratty in Wind in the Willows - would be so perfect its untrue. Cept for I think he died. Crying or Very sad

EDIT: 00000h except I just checked and he didn't - so why the devil wasn't the the book in the HGTTG film?????? I forgot he did the voice for Wallace or Gromit as well.

How about a SAT NAV system that has tourrettes?

My other half recently borrowed a SatNav device that had John Cleese giving the instructions. It was great - very funny and entertaining - well, for the first few times anyway, then it started to get annoying!

The best bit was negotiating a left then immediate right - John Cleese said "bear left, beaver right", which nearly had us the ditch in surprise laughter! Laughing

What about Papa Lazarou from the League of Gentlemen saying lines from Knightrider.

Hello Dave.
You didn't turn left, this is becoming a saga.

The man who did the voice of HAL is hiding out in some small town in Ontario, maybe we could get him to come out of retirement. David Warner and Tim Curry do quite a bit of cartoon voiceover work, one of them would be lovely.

Imagine HAL sat nav telling you to take stress pil whilst driving. Of course your likely to get bumped off by your own vehicle too whilst filling up with sub-standard cheap unleaded.
