Spam comes from the Monty Python sketch.

Do you think that's the origin of internet spam? I thought it was because spam, the foodstuff, has little nutritional value. Spam posts being ungratifying and unfulfilling to read. Got me wondering now.

Spam is actually quite nutritious. It's generally reckoned that the origin of internet spam lies simply with the continuous repetition in the Python sketch - i.e. spam being something annoying that keeps coming.

Spam is bloody lovely (the meat that is). Big thick slices with HP sauce between 2 chunks of white bread - heaven.

I have bookmarked this forum now so when I'm bored at work (like now) I'll pop on and see what is Loring on the Sprouts.

Just to let folks know, you should now see that a large chunk of our Polish ghost members have gone.

James has put a script in place to delete any users that still have not actually logged in within 7 days of initially registering. This runs every Sunday. So, you'll always see a bunch of Polish ghosts from the past 7 days at the end of the memberlist, but they will be getting cleaned up regularly.

I must admit that, when I read that quickly, I assumed that Sproutlore has a problem with poltergeist who periodically go round and polish things. I was going to offer to re-home them -- it would save a lot of housework. The cat might not be so happy about being polished, though.

We need to be fair to genuine users too though - this is basically going to delete any user that registers and then doesn't complete the email verification and then logon within 7 days - so we do need to give real users a chance. 7 days seems about right to me.
