My holiday is all but spent at work (don't start me on that particular matter) but I'd probably be interested.

Derby's location is what makes it so great for these things - right in the middle of England, with its own train station and bus station, and easily accessible from all the big roads. I can do it in 2 hours from Newcastle, so I could be there on a Friday night without even taking a day off.....

Also happy to give lifts to anyone from up here (or to anyone who can get themselves to Newcastle).

if I can leave right after work, I could try and get to newcastle if the lift was possible. if not, i might still get there later on in the evening. Ill look into possibilities later on, but if weve got til jan/feb then ill have time to save up too. Count me in!

Due to potential conflict of timescales, might I suggest holding off on this just for the moment until Ian tells us when the event he is organising is? IIRC it could well be January time; Ian?

Absolutely, good idea. Let's just see if we have enough interest in a Derby event, and wait for Mr. Case to give us something less cryptic.... a rough idea of timing and location would be nice Ian.... Wink

Need to also consider that giving people 3 months notice means more chance to book cheap train tickets and get good hotel deals, so for anything happening in January we need to know ASAP.....

Well, if we end up using the same hotel that we did for the Large events, then you have to actually walk through the station to get to it from the city centre, so that should be easy enough. We can just make sure we're back in the Alex for last orders and we're sorted.
