This is sort of 'on topic' so to speak.
A friend is a member of a local Roman Army re-enactment society. On his way home from a battle demo at a local Roman Fort (Segeduunum) he was arrested for posession of an 'offensive weapon'. The 'offensive weapon' in question was a tower shield. The desk sergeant in the police station called the young pc 'an arse' and the charge was dropped.

well there has to be a good reason for him having it, and a "Roman Army re-enactment society meeting" is a damn good 1!!
