Did you know that milk deliveries these days have become a night shift, and milk is being delivered at midnight, and through the night?

Yes, totally random, but as I sit here, letting "Geoff with the milk" and *clinks bottles* "it's the milkman" (well, as we can't see them they try to make sure we believe them before unlocking the door:) ) into sheltered housing blocks, that are centrally heated, at any time from midnight to morning, I often wonder how much of the milk is a bit stinky by morning. And, thought I'd share my random knowledge with you.

You probably don't care, but now you have this knowledge any way Tongue

Please share your random facts here too.

The US accounts for 1/5 of the world's rubbish. Outputting equivalent to 3lbs per person per day.

The average adult human body (define that as you will) contains enough fat to make seven bars of soap.

And so on.

In a dictionary of interesting numbers, the number 39 was shown as being the first number with no interesting properties. Which gave it some interest of course.

Old railway wagons are named after aquatic lifeforms. For example Sea Urchin, Sea Cow, Trout and Salmon. If you go past a yard with them, the names are written on the sole bar of the wagons...

There are over 50 different types of car glass, only 5 of which are available to Auto Windscreens so the company just doubles up on the descriptions so that customers think they're getting unique and hard-to-come-by bits for thier cars!

Mmmmmm not necessarily. You could survive eating most green vegetables on their own - you wouldn't be hugely healthy (lack of protein & fats) but they wouldn't kill you.

Rabbit is a special case - it is the one meat that actually requires more vitamins to digest than are in the meat, so eating nothing but rabbit meat will kill you (in a matter of weeks) due to vitamin deficiency. Most other meats are low in vitamins so eating them in isolation will make you ill, but rabbit is the one that will actually kill you unless you have a bit of veg on the side.

Someone's been watching QI

... but eating cabbage or purple sprouting brocolli day in and day out would drive most people to suicide, so technically...

Ahhh, but this is one of those rare things that I actually knew before I saw it on QI..... nice to be watching QI and be able to say "oooh, I knew that!" It was one of those facts that stuck in my head from being a small child when we used to get given a lot of rabbits in exchange for various fruit & veg from our garden (I grew up in a village in the Tyne Valley where time has stood still for several hundred years).

Cabbage induced suicide - you could probably gas yourself.....
