Sorry for the crap title, couldn't think of anything more catchy.... Still bogwoppits supurb suggestion below and Roberts wish for a new topic to advertise this late breaking drinkup celebration could not go unanswered.

The exhibition at Gunnesbury house finishes on the 30th of June and although Roberts book launch has been posponed I was wondering if anyone in the london area was going to pop along again before it closes. I might try and get along on Saturday the 28th and if I can persuade Captain fantastic and kelz may pop for a drink in the Magpie on saturday afternoon. It seems a shame to let it close without some sort of toast to the man and his work.

So lets go down to brentford and raise a glass or two (or three)

Myself and Kelly will obviously be there and the other Gaz aka Tinto has said he will try and pop his head in. I'm also expecting Captain fantastic (Ian) to be up for it.

I'll try my best to get there! But I'm on standby that weekend to drive a traction engine.

Oh dear, another event I can't make! I'd even booked the day off work and a hotel and everything for 11th July, which I've now cancelled of course. On Saturday 28th we're building a set for an open-air theatre production of The Taming of the Shrew (so it's guaranteed to rain up here in North Notts) and then are off to my cousin's wedding straight after, so not a chance of attending. Bugger!
However! I am auditing a company in Brentford on Tuesday and Wednesday this coming week, so fully intend to finish as early as possible on the Wednesday so I can finally get to see the exhibition before it closes! These things just don't stay open long enough, do they!!! Laughing
Can anyone recommend a place to eat in that area?
Thanks.

I'm just waiting to hear back from Ian but I guess if we're gonna do this we should arrange a time to meet. It was my intention to go to the museum for about 12:30 so that i could take in the exhibition and have time to look around the park and be in th Magpie for 2:30 for a gentle afternoon / evening of drinking and the eating of thai food which I believe they do.

Let me know your thoughts. The museum is open till about 5 so just let me know whats good for everyone especially for That Mr Rankin fella. It would be lovely to be able to go around the museum together as a group.
