I had this brilliant idea for another Rankinsonian wedding occasion, a few months back. I was gonna tell big Bob about it last time I saw him, but he was up to his armpits in bathroom (nothing seedy, I promise) and I never made it to any of Rachel's subsequent pan-bashing-type events owning to work and kids (mine, not hers) so here the idea is, before it is too late:
* It doesn't take long to drive from Walsall to Snowdonia.
* Anyone can walk up Snowdon from the Pen-Y-Pass car park in about three hours.
* There's a great little hotel near where all the great climbers stayed while training, and signed the ceiling in the bar. And a hostel even closer, for real cheapskates. September is low season.
* Any fool can conduct a short druidic wedding service on a mountaintop.
If no-one can be bothered to walk up (misses the point a bit) you can get the train up and down instead. Personally, I'd rather walk.
What do you reckon, eh?
