Do you still have the publicity stuff about the 30 date tour Andi? I'd love to rub their noses in that!

On the press release (seperate A4 sheet of paper) it clearly says:

"To celebrate his 30th novel, Robert will be embarking on a mammoth 30 event book shop tour to meet fans & sign copies of his book in January"

Also on the inside cover of the proof we have:

"We'll be running a 30th novel brithday campaign that'll get his name everywhere & next year we'll be bringing out a terrific new look for him"

I have no scanner at home (I could visit my parents & use there's if you want a copy?) Or I'm sure Tosh there can scan it & post up the pic on this very thread...?

Since the Sheffield store was cut, I'm currently in the process of trying to book Jan 15th and 16th off work (may as well have a long weekend!) and attend the signing and talk at Nottingham. My mum might be coming along too! She hasn't read any of the books yet, but she's planning on taking one on holiday. No idea which one to introduce her to tho!

I'm glad someone else has asked the question about how many books you can have signed, as I was hoping to get a couple signed myself (i'd bring all 29 if I could! lol).

The only problem is deciding which ones...

Really looking forward to the event as I've never been to one before and i have no idea what to expect!

kind regards,
Dave.

Thank you, Rizla, and Dr O, bring your dog and a paintbrush and a pot of paint.
And a blowlamp in case I do it wrong and we have to get the paint off.

Thank you for the kind offer Robert, but I would feel like I was taking liberties bringing them all (plus I don't know if i'd be able to carry them all!). I'll bring a choice few tho. Smile

And should there be a decent pub near by after the event, I would be honoured to buy you a pint. Considering I've studied and worked in Nottingham for over 10 years I still don't know where the decent pubs are! I'll have to make some enquiries.

Dave.

The Bell Inn in the city centre serves good beer, and it's quite near Waterstones.
And The Salutations Arms in Maid Marion way 5 mins walk good beer and a great rock pub. Metal Hand (Right) Smile

Yes, he once signed a pint glass for my partner with "Mine's a pint of Large, Neville" which became an Xmas present for his brother (another Rankin fan, also named Robert) Grin

If we're talking of signing animals, then I shall bring my puppy, kitten and OH Wink

Both good.

There is a ring of pubs decent Real Ale Pubs around the Waterstones. You can't really make out this map but in an anticlockwise order from the top left:

The Bell,
The Rowebuck (Wetherspoons),
The Approach,
The Salutation Inn,
The Royal Children,
Cock & Hoop,
Keans Head

The Waterstones is bang in the middle

OOoh, I'm going to try to get to either the Leeds or Derby one depending on my exam timetable.

If I end up in Derby I'll happily point everyone to some nice pubs Very Happy

Damn the university and their January exams!

I'll vouch for Mr R's willingness to sign much stuff - I had a holdall of hardbacks and paperbacks (over 20 in number) and he happily ploughed through them all. What a nice bloke!

Well the closest decent pub to the Waterstones is The Babington (it's a Wetherspoons, but the best one for Ale I've ever seen, there are always 17 ever changing Real Ales on Cool )

It goes through various opening & closings (& name changes). I believe i's currently closed. But there is The Sitwell Tavern just round the corner which is currently the Rock Club.
