Ok then . It has been suggested by Andi that I start a new thread for this.

I am asking each of you to approach your local bookstore and ask if they would like me to do a signing there next January. It is the publication of my thirtieth book and I want to do a thirty signings tour. Now I know that it is the job of my publicist to do this sort of thing and he is doing so. But. If I get your help I can go to places which tend to get forgotten or left off the list or suchlike.
So. please check out your local bookstore and ask whether they would be interested in being part of the BIG THIRTY TOUR. And if they say yes, post the details, name of manager (or event organiser or whoever), name of bookstore and address, email and phone number and I will take it from there.

I really appreciate this and look forward to seeing you in a store near you in January.
Could I also ask that you post NOTHING except the info that I have asked for above, on this thread.
Thank you very much indeed.
bestest
Robert[/i]

Spoke to Paul at Waterstones in Darlington. He seemed reluctant to believe what I was saying, and says he'll contact your publisher on Monday. So who knows about this one? Rolling Eyes

This is absolutely brilliant, thank you so much. Please keep it up.
I know, however that the budget will not stretch to the Isle of Man. Shame.

Waterstones, Ipswich are very interested. The lovely lady you need to contact is:

Marissa Murray
Events Manager
manager@ipswich.waterstones.co.uk
01473 289044

Waterstones
15 Butter Market
Ipswich, IP1 1BQ

She will be away for the next eight weeks looking after another store in Cambridge, so please leave it until after then to get in touch. Although, she did say that "hopefully the email will be forwarded to [her] in Cambridge" if you do get in contact before this.

Much as I would really love for robert to visit dumfries I doubt that there would be much of a crowd. In fact I believe that there would be about 5 people all of whom I got reading his books. Having said that though Carlisle may be a good option. Its got a good size, and good transport links for fans from outlying areas. If there's anyone in the sproutlore group who lives in carlisle do they fancy trying their local Waterstones to see if they would be interested? I am rarely in Carlisle apart from when I am working (and then I am driving trains so dont get much time to do anything) so someone else would have to do it.

I don't think Orion will run to me going so far North, it's going to be very tight with the budget as it is.

The events manager at Lincoln is on holiday and I have to call her back a week on Monday.
It is however, still the same lady that booked events when it was Ottakers and, if I remember correctly, she is a bit of a RR fan and was quite disappointed when she had to ring round and cancel when Robert was taken ill the day before the last planned event there.

Get to her when she gets back. This is looking pretty impressive at Orion, I can tell you that! Thank you all so much and keep them coming. I'd really like it if the bulk of these gigs had been put together by the folk at Sproutlore. That would be rather special for my thirtieth book.
