The creators of “Aliens Stole My Handbag”, “Damn Fine Con” &
“They Came And Shaved Us”, bring you the fourth part in the
Weird-Assed-Weekend-Trilogy - ZOMBIECON !!

5th- 7th September 2008. Quality Hotel, Walsall, West Midlands

ZombieCon promises to be two and half days and two long nights of all the Zombie related fun, frolics and sickness you can handle; consisting of demonstrations, workshops, talks, games, masquerade, and two discos.

It offers the discerning connoisseur of all things undead and gory –

A Weekend of Blood Filled Madness!

All the Flesh Curdling Shambling Horror you could wish for!

The potential to see the Dead literally rise from the ground!

Zombie makeup and prosthetic demonstrations by film make up artists followed by hands-on workshops! We have a room dedicated to makeup and costuming for the whole weekend allowing you to take advantage of the facilities therein whenever you feel the need to add a little gore or touch up your peeling flesh.

Zombie Choreography Lessons.
Author Talks and discussions on all things Zombie, Undead-related, or just downright … weird.

There will be a number of fun, silly and potentially life-threatening games to be played such as ‘Mall Mania’, ‘BrainStomping’, and ’Whack-A-Corpse!’ along with some more sedate ones such as the ‘Zombies!” board game.
Join in, with our ‘Brain hunt’ – some kind of weird-assed-easter-egg-type-thing or maybe bring up your breakfast when taking part in ‘Braaaiiins” – the Zombie food tasting item.

“Prom Night” – Time to dress up for the classic All American Prom Night Dance, as featured in oh-so-many horror films. Come clean n gleaming, in your best Tux or Ball gown, or maybe add a little ‘Carrie’ twist Wink

“Dead Can’t Dance” – Fancy Dress Horror Disco. Come dressed as your favourite zombie hero – ‘Bub’, ‘Ed’ or even ‘Michael Jackson’ – we really wanna see those corpses!

We also hope to have Zombie short films shown and discussed with film directors and Zombie experts!

Dress up and win Horrific prizes in our weekend long masquerade challenge.

Buy tickets for the raffle, and interesting items in the auction of ‘Undead Goodies’ (aka ‘tat’).

We will be announcing various and varied guests soon, and will be adding more information on things happening at ZombieCon along with membership information at www.ZombieCon.co.uk so keep an eye out (literally)!

Join Now! Join Often!

Limited space for dealers. If you have cool merchandise that you think will suit the flavour of the con, please contact us about space.

Stef, can this now go into the News Headlines thing above (having taken down all that out of date stuff)?
And, when it does, can you put my Feb 3rd Bearstock gig up there with it? Or I will have to bump it every day for the next two months.
bestest
Robert

Just looking at the hotel stuff etc.

http://www.hotels-walsall.com/

Looks like about 2.5 km cab ride from the station (hotel says "short drive" which is a bit silly for rail passengers...)

Good convention rates, anyway, thanks.

Just wondering which nights to go for: do we start on the Friday night (hence arrive Friday pm) and finish Sunday afternoon; hence leave late-Sunday - or book through to Sunday overnight (i.e. two nights or three)?

I know this is very specific with nine months to go but hey...

In all the years I have been going to that hotel for various conventions I have only managed to get a cab once outside the station. Rolling Eyes

quicker to catch the bus(station just the other side of the shops) drops you almost outside the hotel 3-4mins walk back and the bus only takes 10mins was Ł1.00 fare the last I was there.
