The news this morning said his condition had improved overnight and he was 'stable' rather than 'critical' but still seriously ill. Hang in there Richard, someone needs to save the world from the evils of caravans.

Poor chap. He's a lovely guy, though of course I'd say that because a) he knows about cars b) he has a viva (though much nicer than mine).

He is going to have one hell of a ribbing when he is back up and about from Clarkson about this.

We've just got back from Spain, where we didn't get the english papers until about 11am, and had no access to english language TV or radio news. The missus was white as a sheet when she saw the headline - she loves the Hamster man! Very frustrating not being able to get frequent updates too - but glad to hear he's pulling through!
