I have a bottle of Large!!!

now as a beer lover, is there any special way I should be sitting before opening this bottle and enjoying its fine taste?

maybe some kind of pre-meditation?

Janet was kind enough to smuggle me a bottle through customs and then the hard part of coming to Detroit to deliver it safely...(ok I live in a nice area so thats OK)

He does not lie. He is in a good area. If he wasn't I would have brought Mick with me as my bodyguard.

I think you should drink it warm whilst rolling up your trouser legs and wearing a hankerchief on your head with twisted corners and drink it outside in the garden during light drizzle.

THAT would be British.

Glad to here a bottle has made it to you Dave.

Drink it anyway you enjoy, just note that it's bottle conditioned, so poor it out carefully Wink

I think you should be required to wear a Viking helmet while drinking or a cowboy hat at least, just to get in the proper spirit of the thing.

Yes, did you drink it. Mick drank his and he said it was a little skunked, what with all the temperature changes. He also said it tasted surprisingly like Ghettoblaster from Motor City Brewing Works.

Hmm, first time I've seen the word Skunk used as a verb, so I looked it up and...

tr.v. Slang skunked, skunk·ing, skunks

1. To defeat overwhelmingly, especially by keeping from scoring.
2.
1. To cheat (someone).
2. To fail to pay (an amount due).

What does this other usage mean pray tell? I assume corrupted in some fashion?

According to urbandictionary.com, skunked when used in the context of beer means it's gone off.

Funny, Mick is the only one I know who ever uses it, but I always know what he means. I am certainly more familiar with Timmeh's first definition, especially at the cribbage board, far too often from the wrong side.

We always used "skunked" in relation to beer that was left overnight in a keg, allowed to warm up and then re-cooled. There really is a distinctive "skunky" characteristic, if you know what to taste for.

Hmmmm, I'd be very supprised if it had gone off (even with tempreture changes) Confused

Could it be he didn't let the sedement in the bottle settle before pouring it?

No idea, I'm waiting for Dave to chime in to settle the matter. He got his bottle the day after Mick got his and they were together up to that point so if one was affected the other should have been as well.
