My "find a gig for Rankin" thread has vanished away, so I don't quite understand what the "sticky" thing is. So could someone put it back up here on the front page please? I don't seem to be able to.
Thank you.
By the by, I have eight confirmed gigs now, but I do need another 22.

It is at the very top of this section of the forum and never went away. Confused
It's under the announcement message and above the De Da da download thread.

[Edit] Loz just pointed out to me that you might not be noticing it because it has the word "Sticky" in front of it now (as all sticky threads do)

Robert also said "here on the front page", could he be looking in a different place?

Good point dude! Where are you looking Robert?

Are you only using the main page of the website that has a recently updated threads bit? If so, there's no control over which threads appear except, of course, by bumping as you were.
However, if you are looking at the forum proper, then the "Find a gig for rankin" thread always appears at the top of the appropriate section.

Once it leaves the front page I can't get it back with this computer. Does anyone have a way of keeping it on the front page until I have enough gigs?

If by the front page you mean this:
http://www.sproutlore.com/
Then, no, there's no way of keeping it at the top.

But don't worry it'll always be (2nd from) the top here:
http://sproutlore.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4
Which is where 90% of people will be looking for it...

It must be this computer because once a thread has left the front page if I try to post on it, it just ignores me. Damn, that rather screws me, doesn't it?

The best thing would be to get Mr Shields to add it to the news or one of the banners on the front page of the site, with a link to the forum thread.

That sounds bizarre.

So if you go to this page, click on the sproutmaster link to this page then the appropriate thread it won't let you post?

I can't help but feel this may be a manifestation of your technophobia. Confused

No truly I type in the post as usual, press submit and my message gets cancelled and I'm back on the basic listings again. Am I doing something wrong? If so I can figure out what.

Hmm, sounds a bit odd. I shall ask James if he has any ideas what may be causing it. Confused

Wasn't it Talie that had a similar issue at points?
